Nauticus Visitor Services Database Intern (Seasonal)

Nauticus is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Altru Database & POS Intern to support our admissions and guest‑services operations. This unpaid internship offers hands‑on experience working with Altru, our point‑of‑sale and CRM system used for ticketing, memberships, events, and visitor data.
This role is ideal for students or early‑career individuals interested in data management, nonprofit operations, museum administration, or customer‑service analytics. Interns will gain practical experience in data entry, system organization, reporting, and workflow support — all while working in a fun, dynamic environment at one of Norfolk’s most iconic attractions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data entry and record maintenance: Input, update, and verify visitor, membership, and transaction data in Altru.
- POS system support: Assist with organizing and maintaining product lists, ticket types, discounts, and event setups.
- Data cleanup: Identify duplicate records, outdated information, and inconsistencies; help standardize data for accuracy.
- Reporting assistance: Support staff by pulling basic reports or summaries from Altru as needed.
- Membership and ticketing support: Help ensure membership records, renewals, and guest information are accurate and up to date.
- Documentation and workflow updates: Contribute to internal guides or checklists for data‑entry processes.
- Cross‑department coordination: Work with Visitor Services, Education, and Events teams to confirm or gather needed information.
- General administrative support: Assist with tasks that keep the admissions and operations teams running smoothly.

Details:
- 150 Hour Season Internship (Fall, Spring, Summer); Mondays-Fridays, hours can be flexible based on schedule of intern and department supervisor
- All Nauticus internships are voluntary unpaid positions with no expectation of compensation.
